REISEN PROJEKTS

SHORT TERM PAINS = LONG TERM GAINS

GREAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE NOT JUST GIVEN AWAY

STRATEGICALLY CONCEIVED AMBITIOUSLY DRIVEN

IN A WORLD WHERE NEEDS DEFINE OPPORTUNITIES IT IS THE PROCESS THAT RESULTS IN POSITIVE OUTCOMES

The process begins with someone expresses concern, discomfort, dissatisfaction or pain.  By utilizing an analytical approach to uncover the underlying causes of either real or perceived malaise the path towards results is outlned.   Then comes the fun part of planning, execution, measurement and adjustment.   Sometimes these are really big problems taking much longer and requring many more resources than immediately at hand.  The process of engagement,  planning and execution remain fundamentally the same regardess of the size of the challenge.

HERE ARE 3 OF OUR MEGA PROJECTS (REISEN PROJEKTS) WHICH HAVE US BOTH EXCITED AND CHALLENGED.     PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE JOURNEY AHEAD….

In principle, putting a project together is fundamentally a case of solving a puzzle.

Doing this succesfully requires 3 things:

1. Knowing what the finished picture should look like.

2. Searching out where all the pieces are likely to be found.

3. Figuring precisely how all the pieces utlimately fit together.

TO WATER OR NOT TO WATER? oUR WAY OF LIFE DEPENDS ON IT

CHINOOK REGIONAL WATERWERX

This region south of a line between Calgary and Medicine Hat presents both opportunities challenges to sustaining food production.  Relying upon inconsistent runoff from the Rocky Mountains requires more precision in both usage and re-usage of this critical resource.   Our role is to match funding for infrastructure with technoolgy to ensure we give ourselves the best odds for success.

CHNOOK AEROSPHERE

Through a fortitous combination of history, investments, institutions and policies, Southern Alberta is taking a bead on the future.   Companies such as DeHavilland Canada,  Prattt & Whitney,  General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin,  Collins,  Bell and L3Harris all have a presence here.  In addition,  companies such as Boeing and Airbus work with our advanced education institutions to undertake research and knowledge sharing that will serve us for decades to come.

more often than not it is easier to go forward than backward

SOUTHERN ALBERTA REGIONAL AIRPORT AUTHORITY

Even though Lethbridge has seen incremental improvements to the aiport facility itself the fact is air traffic elwewhere has been soaring upwards.  For example, Canadian passenger traffic increased by 180.8% going from 12.4 million passengers in 2021 to 34.7 million passengers in 2022.  As significant as this increase appears, the future holds the promise for even greater growth as new types of fuel efficient long distance aircraft allow passengers to bypass hubs. Meanwhile Advanced Air Mobility will remove cars for short distance (<200 kms) travel.
